Basal leaf blades: margins toothed. Petals 12-20 mm. 2n = 28. Flowering late spring-mid summer. Rocky crevices and slopes, 400-2200 m; Calif. Variety heckneri is known only from the southern Klamath Ranges in Trinity County.
