Leaves 30-85 × 3-9 mm. Phyllaries 2-14 × 0.7-3 mm. Disc florets: corollas 9-12 mm, lobes 1-1.3 mm, acute; anthers 3.1-4.1 mm, appendages long-acuminate, 0.5-1.1 mm; style branches 3.5-4.2 mm, appendages 1.4-1.7 mm, apices acute. Cypselae 7-9 mm; pappi 8-10 mm. 2n = 18 (as Petradoria discoidea). Flowering late summer-fall. Rocky, wooded slopes; 2200-2900 m; Calif., Nev. Cuniculotinus gramineus is known from southern Nevada and Inyo County, California.
