Flowers bisexual, radially symmetric; sepals 3, sepaloid, distinct, equal; petals 3, petaloid, distinct, equal; stamens 3; staminodes absent; anthers dehiscing by apical pores or porelike slits; ovary superior, 3-carpellate, 1-locular; ovules 2-seriate; styles 1, simple; stigmas 1, simple or slightly 3-fid. Fruits loculicidal capsules. Seeds: embryotega present.
