Stems glabrate to sparsely strigose (hairs appressed to ascending, 0.2-0.5 mm), more densely strigose immediately proximal to heads. Leaves: basal blades linear to linear-oblanceolate, 1-3.5(-6) mm wide, margins entire (cauline faces glabrate or sparsely to moderately strigillose). Involucres 2.5-3(-4) mm. Phyllaries glabrate or sparsely strigose (hairs terete, 0.1-0.4 mm). Flowering late May-Oct. Dolomite glades; of conservation concern; 20-50 m; Ala.
