Collection Swale is 40 ft. north of Botanical Garden Rd. where Botanical Garden Road intersects at Botanical Garden Center and Conservatory. N 32° 74' 0.62", W 97° 36' 3.15". The survey site was a recent landscape addition to the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. Elevation 180 meters. Herbaceous shrubland with Salvia coccinea, immature Populus deltoides, and sparse Pluchea odorata. Typha sp. is locally rare. Soil is poor in organic matter, light in appearance, and has a high sand content. The vegetative coverage is about 50-75% and is in direct sunlight., 180m
